Upgrade your VW Thing seats with our new TTS sports seats package. These front seats come pre-mounted on original thing seat frames. Very easy to install in your car… Just slide your old seats out, install new seat runner strips, then slide your new seats in. Also you will find TTS sports seats to be much more comfortable and easier to get in and out. Also available, matching rear basket weave vinyl seats.

These front seats enable you to sit lower, giving you more steering wheel clearance and improved comfort. They include a backrest reclining mechanism for quick adjustment. The Thing Shop’s goal is to create a sport seat that we think resembles the style and design offered by German car makers. This particular style of seat resembles the Recaro sport seat that was offered by Porche for the 911 in the 1970’s. We’ve had several customers visit our shop over the past few months and tried getting in and out of our test car — and they’ve all been pleasantly surprised with the experience..

Front SEAT HEATERS! The seat bottoms have seat heaters pre-installed!

Wiring harness included. Fuse, relay, hi/low switch. 1 switch controls both seats simultaneously. If switch is in Hi, then both seats will get high heat. If switch is in low, both seats will get low heat.

Also available are rear seats with matching basket weave Vinyl.

Before you remove or return your seat core, contact us at The Thing Shop.
We only give core credit for frames in good usable condition. We need good cores so that we can continue to manufacture seats and keep these cars on the road.

*We strongly recommend contacting The Thing Shop and sending us photos before shipping your frames back.*

Remember, the buy-back amount is UP TO $625.00. The final amount depends on the condition of the frames and cannot be determined until we receive and inspect them. The seats must be disassembled and packed as instructed so they fit properly in the reusable box and help keep return shipping costs as low as possible.

First, inspect your original seat frames and make sure they appear to meet the requirements listed below.

✅ Acceptable for Credit

· Original Volkswagen Thing low-back seat frames only
· Light surface rust only
· Metal must remain solid underneath the surface rust
· Frames must be straight with no significant bends or twis􀆟ng
· Springs must be intact and usable
· Frames must be free of cracks or breaks

❌ Not Acceptable for Credit

· Heavy rust, rust-through, or flake rust
· Metal that has been significantly damaged by previous rust
· Bent, twisted, or badly dented frames
· Springs rusted through or missing sections
· Cracked or broken frames
· Severely damaged or heavily abused seat frames

Important Notes:

• Customer is responsible for all shipping costs for core returns.
• All core return shipments must be received within 60 days of seat purchase.
• Call or email us first to confirm your core quality and our requirements.
  • It is impossible to give you an exact core refund estimate without having the cores delivered to us. If you have any doubts, please do not waste your money sending us questionable cores.
• When returning your cores, the lease expensive way to ship them is: Remove all upholstery and padding, disassemble back from cushion, ship in the smallest box possible, shop for the cheapest shipping rate, see FAQ.
