This top is professionally sewn with an excellent fit and is designed specifically for the Volkswagen Thing / Type 181. It is made to fit just like the genuine Volkswagen top, while improving on the original with modern materials and a greatly improved rear window.
We use premium Haartz convertible topping, the industry-leading convertible top material used throughout the automotive industry, along with a Strataglass™ 40 Gauge clear rear window for excellent clarity and durability. The sewn-in rear window is a modern scratch-resistant upgrade compared to the original-style window material.
This top includes pre-installed grommets and straps, along with pre-punched front rivet holes to make installation onto your existing header bow easier. The result is a clean, tight-fitting replacement top for customers who already have a complete frame assembly and want the best quality materials, fit, and workmanship.
